Somerton Yacht Club
Somerton Yacht Club developed from the Broadway Yacht Squadron (or Broadway Sailing Club) that operated in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s. At the time, members sailed a variety of boats typically from backyard construction.
Following World War II, the sailing community’s desire for a more structured club resulted in the establishment of SYC and in the early 1950’s, the existing facility on the Esplanade at Somerton was established.
To this day, Somerton operates with a community and family focus sailing a variety of classes and is open to sailors of all levels of ability.
